Mr. Gordon has dedicated his career to working in environments that promote and support communities becoming progressive and healthy through technical assistance and support. He has over 30 years of management and leadership roles in First Nations organizations and communities. He has held two terms as elected Chief, and three terms as Band Councillor of his nation, Lac Seul First Nation.
Mr. Gordon has played various operational roles within his Lac Seul First Nation. Mr. Gordon is currently the Director of Capital Projects, where he is responsible for capital projects and initiatives related to housing, infrastructure management, construction, maintenance, and asset management. He has also acted as both the Housing Manager and as a project manager for the community. Prior to working at the Lac Seul First Nation, Mr. Gordon worked as the Technical Unit Manager at the Shibogama Tribal Council (STC), which included five remote fly-in communities in northwestern Ontario. Mr. Gordon is a Certified Housing Inspector and a Journeyman Carpenter.
Mr. Gordon was involved in the Ad Hoc Committee that assisted in the start-up of OFNTSC and subsequently served on the OFNTSC Board for 21 years. Has served on the Executive Committee, and as Treasurer of OFNTSC. Mr. Gordon also serves on the board of a housing authority within his community and on a Housing Board in Sioux Lookout that manages 45 houses.
