Amy is a recent graduate from Lakehead University. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with first class standing. For her final degree project, Amy was a part of Lakehead University’s 2019 Steel Bridge Team. The team competed in the CISC/CSCE Canadian National Steel Bridge Competition in May of 2019. The team had to design, fabricate, and construct a model-sized bridge that was to hold 2500 pounds based on the provided rules. The competition took place in Montréal at L’École Polytechnique and the team placed 6th overall out of 18 teams.
Although her final degree project focused on structural engineering, Amy was always more drawn to the environmental and water/wastewater courses within civil engineering. Amy is currently working at OFNTSC in the engineering department as an engineer in training, mainly focusing on water and wastewater treatment systems.
