Clynten King

Clynt was the Environmental Technician for the Six Nations Council of the Grand River for 21 years from 1998 to 2020.  He used a variety of instruments and GIS programs to acquire and analyze geophysical data and geographical features to assist in responding to various environmental concerns. From 1990 to 1996 he worked as an Environmental Abatement Officer for the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, and, from 1986 to 1989, as a meteorological technician with Environment Canada's weather services.  He was also an elected councillor for the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation Council from 2007 to 2015, where he took a lead role on environmental issues for his home First Nation. He participates in various cultural ceremonies, rituals and practices, and blends his Indigenous cultural insights with his scientific environmental work.
