Ian Fortin is a member of the Chapleau Cree First Nation and has resided in the community for the past 30 years. Previous to his position as Water and Wastewater Process HUB Technician he was a CRTP trainer for OFNTSC from January 2008-2020. In 2014, he took a short break to return to his home community to aid in the water plant upgrades and to train a new operator. Ian has his Class 3 water treatment, Class 2 Water Distribution, Water Quality Analysis and his Ontario Septic Installer and Septic Inspector License. For the past 20 years he has also served as an executive member on the Aboriginal Water and Wastewater Association of Ontario. Ian is a strong advocate for First Nation’s water, and he believes clean water is a right not a privilege. Professionally he is committed to getting First Nation Communities water treatment plants up to and maintained at a provincial standard.
